Letter: No room for Trump lies in this election

Donald Trump recently stated he was riding in a helicopter with Willie Brown, but according to Brown, this is entirely false. Only Trump, not Brown, is a known fabricator. The helicopter isn’t taking sides. Trump has voiced more than 30,500 lies and misleading statements, per The Washington Post.

After Brown’s refutation, Trump spins a tale about outrunning O.J. Simpson. O.J. is unable to repudiate the tale, being no longer among us.

Unfortunately the dead are challenged to defend their truth. Though one must ponder if Trump could outrun Simpson, those alleged bone spurs must have been MIA.

One is left wondering why Trump’s mother failed to read “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” to her young son. It seems imparting the tale would have done him a world of good.

Some specifics:

• Per CNN, Trump lied 30 times during the Biden debate.

• Per NPR, the lies and distortions number 162 during the Mar-a-Lago press conference.

The upcoming Harris-Trump debate calls for fact-checking in real time.

A lie has no strength by its assertion; its power emerges when fools agree to believe the liar.
