ODA issues final Permit to Operate renewal for Fortkamp Poultry Farm

FORT RECOVERY — The Ohio Department of Agriculture has issued a final Permit to Operate renewal for Paul and Nathan’s Fortkamp Poultry Farm, according to the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Livestock Environmental Permitting office.

The final permit will last for five years.

The farm, which houses 457,944 laying hens at 1191 Wendel Road, Fort Recovery, across three-layer houses and annually produces about 5,330 tons of solid poultry manure and 67 tons of compost, applied for a PTO renewal in September of 2024.

The final permit may be appealed. The notice of Appeal and the filing fee must be sent to: The Environmental Review Appeals Commission (ERAC), 30 E. Broad St., 4th floor, Columbus, Ohio, 43215, by 5 p.m. on Nov. 14. Questions regarding the appeal process may be directed to ERAC.
