GO Ottawa’s EndZone receives statewide award

OTTAWA — Ottawa’s EndZone won the 2024 Heritage Ohio Best Placemaking Award at Tuesday’s award ceremony at the Midland Theatre in Newark.

The Ottawa EndZone is situated on Walnut Street, on the east side of the DuMont Building in downtown Ottawa. It serves as a hangout spot alongside the Ottawa Brewing Company, which is located in the DuMont Building.

GO Ottawa, which has played a major role with the EndZone, is a community-driven organization that has collaborated with the village of Ottawa and assisted in revitalizing downtown.

“What a great honor for all of those that helped with creating the EndZone,” according to a post on the organization’s Facebook page.

The EndZone was one of three Ohio locations available for the award, including Lock 9 Park in Piqua and the Downtown Mayfield-Green District in South Euclid.

Heritage Ohio is a statewide Main Street coordinating agency under Main Street America that honors the people, places, and projects that show commitment to growth.
