Dayton man arrested in Mercer County for OVI, stolen car

MARION TOWNSHIP — A Dayton man was arrested Saturday in the area of U.S. Route 127 and state Route 274 in Mercer County for driving a stolen car, driving while impaired and driving under suspension.

According to a news release from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, at 7:12 p.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle driven by William McSwain, 21, for a traffic violation. The 2009 white Acura sedan was an stolen vehicle from the Dayton area, and law enforcement confirmed with the owner it was stolen.

McSwain was cited with misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while impaired and driving under suspension and a fourth-degree felony charge of receiving stolen property. McSwain is being held on a $10,000 bond for Celina Municipal Court and a $50,000 bond for Mercer County Common Pleas Court. A preliminary hearing on the felony charge is set for Friday.
