Auglaize health district to seek replacement levy in ‘25

WAPAKONETA — The Auglaize County board of commissioners, acting at the request of the county health department, have voted to submit a replacement levy before voters in the May 6, 2025, primary election.

Health department officials notified the commissioners that with the expiration next year of an existing 1.0-mill tax levy, the funds that may be raised within the 10-mill limitation from villages, cities and townships “will be insufficient to meet the expenses of the Health District’s programs.”

The commissioners voted 3-0 to authorize a measure to be placed before county voters in May for a 10-year, 0.85-mill replacement levy for the health district.
