Allen County RTA receives state grant

LIMA — The Allen County Regional Transit Authority will receive nearly $495,000 in grant funding from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Urban Transit Program.

The RTA received a base grant of $230,792 with a small urban bonus of $264,168 for a total grant allocation of $494,960.

The Allen County RTA is one of 26 transit agencies in the state receiving a share of more than $23 million through the grant program to use for such investments as fleet expansion, upgrades to facilities and also new equipment and technology.

“Public transportation is an important part of our communities,” Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said in a statement. “These funds help ensure public transit remains an option for the hundreds of thousands of Ohioans who rely on it daily.”
