McCullough house fire causes $20,000 in damages

LIMA — A house fire Monday around 3:40 p.m. at 1109 N. McCullough St. resulted in an estimated $20,000 in property damage and $5,000 to $7,000 in content loss, according to Lima Battalion Chief Brad Miller.

Miller said the fire might have been started by a candle. All of the residents and firefighters made it out without injuries and Miller said the fire initially looked more involved than it was. Firefighters put it out in about 20 minutes. The Red Cross was called to assist the husband and wife, two children and two pets who lived at the home.

The Allen County Auditor’s website estimates the property is worth about $37,000 and it is owned by Rodney Adams.
