Klopfenstein introduces bill to regulate imitation meat

COLUMBUS — State Representatives Roy Klopfenstein (R-Haviland) and Jack Daniels (R-New Franklin) introduced legislation to accurately label imitation meat and egg products.

House Bill 661 would force corporations to clearly define the difference between agricultural food animal products and manufactured protein food products.

The bill, which is similar to bipartisan legislation passed in Iowa, will go to committee next.
