Culinary students competing in Chopped-theme contest

LIMA — Lima Senior High School culinary students will participate in the National Guard’s MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) Chopped Challenge on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Working in small groups, students will create a plated meal using ingredients from a U.S. Military MRE.

The first group of students will begin cooking at 9:45 a.m. with judging at 11:20 a.m. The next group will start around noon with judging at around 1:50 p.m.

The winners from Lima Senior will later compete against other schools’ culinary programs.
