LIMA — The West Ohio Food Bank is participating in Hunger Action Month by calling on the public to volunteer, educate and advocate for ending hunger.
The food bank is partnering with Feeding America to raise awareness throughout September.
The food bank recently announced a new mission statement: “Nourish, educate and advocate for those facing food insecurity.”
Its new vision statement is, “Work to end hunger in our communities.”
The American Institute of Baking recently inspected the bank and handed down a score of 905 surpassing the 900 requirement to display a banner showing its commitment to food safety.
