Blessing of the animals returns to St. Matthew’s church

CRIDERSVILLE — St. Matthew Lutheran Church will host its second blessing of the animals service from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the church, 5050 St. Matthews Drive, Cridersville.

The public is invited to bring their family pets to the service, which commemorates St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology.

Church leaders will pray over and bless the animals through a drive-thru line.

Free-will donations are accepted.

The church is located off Hume Road north of Cridersville.
