Bath Township to welcome new firefighters, promote existing one

BATH TOWNSHIP — A swearing-in/promotion ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, as the Bath Township Fire Department welcomes nine new firefighters and recognizes the promotion of a current member of the department.

The ceremony will be held at the Bath Township Fire Station, 1787 N. Dixie Highway, Lima. Fire Chief Joe Kitchen said the event “marks an important milestone for our community as we welcome the next generation of firefighters who have committed their lives to serving and protecting the residents of Bath Township.”

In addition to welcoming the new firefighters, the ceremony will also feature the promotion of firefighter/paramedic Brock Yingling to the position of platoon chief. Kitchen said the promotion is “a testament to Yingling’s hard work, leadership and unwavering commitment to the safety of our community.”

The ceremony is open to the public.
