Elida Police Department recertified for meeting set standards

COLUMBUS — The Elida Police Department recently gained re-certification from the state Office of Criminal Justice Services for achieving and maintaining state standards established by the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board.

Sixteen other agencies achieved their re-certification, according to a press release from the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

Agencies completing the certification process have adopted and implemented the initial two standards regarding use of force and hiring and recruitment while the re-certification process takes place on a revolving, three- to four-year cycle.
