Tibetan monks to visit Bluffton

BLUFFTON — Tibetan Buddhist Monks-Lama will visit Bluffton University in September.

The monks are visiting Bluffton from the Garden Shartse Monastery in India as part of their U.S. tour, which raises money for the monastery and educates the public about Tibetan culture.

The monks will discuss Tibetan culture, including traditional sand painting, meditation-healing practices and inner peace during their visit, starting with a presentation at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Yoder Recital Hall, 1 University Drive, Bluffton.

A question-and-answer forum at Bluffton’s Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center will be held in the afternoon, followed by dinner at 5 p.m. at the Greenhorn Restaurant, 112 Vine St., Bluffton.

Both university events are free and open to the public. Dinner is open to the public with a donation at the door.
