AMERICAN TOWNSHIP — A fire occurred at 2 a.m. Wednesday at a house at 7290 W. Lincoln Highway in American Township.
According to a Facebook post from the American Township Fire Department, the fire quickly spread, so aid from other departments was requested. The firefighters had the situation contained in about two and a half hours. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
According to the Allen County Auditor’s website, the house is owned by Neil and Cindi Elick and has five bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was built in 1867 and remodeled in 2003.
