DeWine announces broadband investments

COLUMBUS — Gov. Mike DeWine announced a $94.5 million investment to expand broadband access in 23 Ohio counties including Allen and Auglaize counties.

Brightspeed will provide access to 5,053 households serving Allen, Ashtabula, Columbiana, Knox, Mahoning, Shelby and Trumbull counties with an $11,358,720 award.

Time Warner Cable Midwest will provide access to 6,645 households in Auglaize, Butler, Logan, Montgomery and Preble counties with a $17,471,275 award.

The Ohio Residential Broadband Expansion Grant program provides high-speed internet service by authorizing BroadbandOhio to provide funding to the two providers.
