Lima man pleads guilty to drug charges after plea offer

LIMA — A Lima man charged with numerous drug and weapons charges accepted a plea offer from Allen County prosecutors and pleaded guilty to reduced charges Wednesday.

Taurus Fisher, 53, pleaded guilty to second-degree and fourth-degree felony charges of marijuana trafficking; two third-degree felony charges of having weapons while under disability; and a third-degree felony charge of burglary with multiple specifications.

Assistant Allen County Prosecuting Attorney Joshua Carp said Monday that after several back-and-forth offers and counter offers between his office and Fisher’s defense team they had agreed on a jointly recommended prison term of 14 years for the Lima man. All gun specifications, which carry additional, mandatory prison time, would be dismissed, Carp said.

After a presentence investigation, Judge Jeffrey Reed will sentence Fisher on Sept. 30.
