Van Wert Hospital earns five stars from federal Medicare, Medicaid agency

VAN WERT — OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital earned top marks from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which awarded the hospital the highest five-star quality rating in its latest list of hospital quality ratings.

“This recognition is something we are proud of,” President Joy Bischoff said in a news release.

“OhioHealth is committed to providing quality care close to home for our community,” she said. “We have been part of the community for a little over a year now, and we are optimistic for the future of patient care here.”

The Van Wert hospital s one of 381 hospitals in the U.S. to earn five-star ratings, which measure safety, mortality, patient experience, readmission rates and timely and effective care.

OhioHealth’s Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus and O’Bleness Hospital in Athens also earned top marks from CMS.
