Free driver training for teens planned in Lima

LIMA — The Ohio Traffic Safety Office, a division of the Ohio Department of Public Safety, is hosting free, hands-on training for teen drivers to practice crash avoidance techniques and gain the experience necessary to become safer drivers.

Classes will be held locally on Aug. 7-8 at Lima Senior High School, 1 Spartan Way.

Instructors from Ohio-based DriveTeam will provide the training at two four-hour sessions daily. Wednesday sessions are filled, but spots are still available on Thursday for newly- licensed drivers or teens with a valid temporary permit.
