CELINA — The Lake Improvement Association is hosting the 23rd annual Bar Stool Open on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the bars along Grand Lake St. Marys.
The rain-or-shine event includes a miniature golf tournament featuring four-person teams stopping at 12 different lake bars. There will also be a T-shirt contest, a pontoon/boat decorating contest and a photo contest. The golf tournament will tee off at 9 a.m., and teams can play by land or by sea.
The cost for the tournament is $120 per team, with teams registering before Aug. 3 paying an early bird rate of $100. Teams can register at the Celina Moose, Shingle Shack, It’s It, Buoy’s Bar & Grill, the Celina Eagles, Bayview Pub, South Shore Sportsman’s Club, Rustic Haven, Boardwalk Grill, Duckfoot’s and Lakeside Hideout. All proceeds will go toward funding improvement efforts for the lake.
First, second and third-place prizes will be $300, $200 and $100 for the mini golf tournament, $200, $100 and $50 for the decorating contest and $150, $100 and $75 for the T-shirt contest. There will also be a $50 photo contest award given out for the best photo posted during the event. All cash awards except the photo award will be given out at a ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11 at the Celina Eagles.
