LIMA — Area Agency on Aging 3 will distribute boxes of produce from 1-4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at its location, 2423 Allentown Road, Lima. The distribution to low-to-moderate income residents of Allen County over the age of 60 is part of the agency’s celebration of National Farmers Market Week.
Valued at $25 to $30, the boxes will contain a variety of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables including corn, tomatoes, zucchini, onion, peaches and apples. Boxes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Distribution will be done by drive-through, so qualified recipients may stay in their cars. A valid identification is required.
The event is funded thanks in part to Allen County Healthy Aging funding and in partnership with county commissioners and the Allen County Council on Aging.
