St. Rita’s honored for stroke, diabetes care

LIMA — The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognized Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center for meeting guidelines for stroke and diabetes care.

The organizations awarded St. Rita’s with the Get with the Guidelines/Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type Two Diabetes Honor Roll distinctions, awarded to hospitals for providing evidence-based treatment for stroke and diabetes.

“We are proud of this award, recognizing our team’s hard work and dedication to providing the highest level of stroke care in our community,” Lisa Rampe, director of neuroscience and rehabilitation at St. Rita’s, said in a news release.

“This level of achievement truly takes a village as many hands and multiple departments are involved in bringing it all together — with the patient always being at the center.”
