Enbridge Gas experiencing tech outage

LIMA — Enbridge Gas Ohio, formerly Dominion East Ohio, is currently experiencing technical difficulties due to a large-scale technology outage affecting multiple systems worldwide, according to a release from the company.

Should a natural gas-related emergency arise, Enbridge is advising gas utility customers to call 911 if their call to the company’s customer service line go unanswered. No gas leaks can currently be submitted online via the company’s website due to the technology outage.

Enbridge is reminding customers that if they smell gas, they should leave the area immediately, warn others to stay away and then call 911 from a safe place. Anyone suspecting a gas leak is advised to not turn any natural gas valves off or on, to not smoke, use a lighter or light a match and not to use any electric switches, telephones or cell phones, garage door openers or flashlights, as any of these objects can create sparks and ignite any gas in the air. Any nearby vehicles or other machinery should not be started or stopped, as they also may cause sparks that could ignite gas.
