Mercy Health cancer program re-accredited

LIMA — Mercy Health’s oncology program achieved re-accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.

Cancer programs accredited through the commission undergo a site visit every three years to ensure compliance with CoC standards for diagnostic, treatment and supportive cancer services to continue accreditation.

“At St. Rita’s, we desire to drive continuous improvement, provide comprehensive clinical care and are continually searching for best practice models,” Kathryn Hunt, director of oncology services at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, said in a news release.

“The Commission on Cancer accreditation is a stamp of approval and ensures the community that our cancer program is aligned with high standards, integrated models of care and quality patient outcomes,” she said.
