LIMA — The Lima-Allen County Safe Community Coalition recently reported there have been two fatalities due to traffic crashes in Allen County during May and June, increasing the county’s crash fatalities in 2024 to five.
Of the fatal crashes in May and June, one resulted in the death of a driver on a state/federal highway, and the other occurred on a township road where a passenger died.
Two of the other fatal crashes in 2024 occurred on state/federal highways and two drivers were killed as a result. An additional fatal crash was cited as a pedestrian who was killed on a city street.
Allen County saw 10 crash fatalities in 2023 and 15 in 2022.
