Wednesday fire causes $10,000 in damages to Haller Street home

LIMA — A Wednesday afternoon fire caused an estimated $10,000 in damages to a Lima residence.

According to a spokesman for the Lima Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at 2:30 p.m. to 456 Haller St. in reference to a structure fire. Upon their arrival, they found a fire in the back of the residence. The blaze was quickly contained.

Damages were estimated at $7,500 to the structure and $2,500 for the contents of the home. The structure is owned by Quintaile Todde, according to Allen County Auditor’s Office records.

The cause of the fire is unknown and the incident remains under investigation, the LFD spokesman said.
