Active shooter training planned at Shawnee High School

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — The Lima Police Department’s SWAT team, in partnership with the Shawnee Township Police Department, will conduct an active shooter training session at Shawnee High School on Wednesday, July 3. The session will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will last for several hours.

Shawnee Police Chief Rob Kohli said residents in the vicinity of the high school will see an increased presence of first responders during the session.

The training, Kohli said, is intended “to ensure the safety and security of our community as we enhance our preparedness and response capabilities.”
