Lima Memorial shrinking administrative workforce

LIMA — Lima Memorial Health System is shrinking its administrative workforce, the healthcare facility has confirmed, but it declined to provide information on how many positions this will affect.

This change is due, administrators say, to economic pressures related to inflation and other cost-related factors.

“Hospitals across the country are facing significant challenges due in large part to declining reimbursements and increased supply and labor costs,” Lima Memorial president and CEO Mike Swick said in a statement. “Like all businesses, Lima Memorial continually evaluates its cost structure to ensure we provide cost-effective, high-quality care to our community.”

Lima Memorial officials said this downsizing will not affect patient care, noting that the facility is actively seeking to hire nurses and other patient support staff.
