Historical society kicks off ‘Second Saturday’ events

BLUFFTON — The Swiss Community Historical Society of Bluffton and Pandora will host a series of events called Second Saturdays this summer. Period-costumed docents will be on hand for guided tours of the air-conditioned house, as well as the summer kitchen, garden, workshop and barn.

The series starts on Saturday, June 8, when Van Risser will demonstrate some examples of hearth cooking from 1-4 p.m.

On July 13 from 1-4 p.m. Beth Boehr will demonstrate and instruct in the art of scherenschnitte, or paper cutting. There will be an alternate activity for small children.
