KENTON — Dr. Carol Oates will be the featured speaker at a meeting of the Northwest Ohio Woodland Association scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 8 at 22319 Hardin County Township Road 140, Kenton.
Oates attended veterinary school at Ohio State University and graduated in 1971. She married Gary Oates and opened a veterinary practice in Kenton, which she maintained for more than 50 years.Oates today does woodlot improvements, beekeeping, hunting and fishing and wildlife watching.
Forester Steve McGinnis is also scheduled to talk about crop tree release at the June meeting. Participants will hike several woodlots and should dress accordingly.
