Armstrong Museum joins Air and Space Trail

WAPAKONETA — The Armstrong Air and Space Museum is now a part of the newly released Ohio Air and Space Trail.

The trail is one of six experiential trails linking historic sites across the state. The Air and Space Trail honors a number of famous Ohio flyers, including Armstrong, John Glenn, Orville and Wilbur Wright and the state’s Women Airforce Service Pilots from World War II.

The trail links the Armstrong museum to the National Air Force Museum in Dayton, the International Women’s Air & Space Museum and the Great Lakes Science Center, both in Cleveland, the WACO Air Museum in Troy and the John and Annie Glenn Museum in New Concord.

”I’m pleased that three of the stops on the trail will land in the 12th Senate District,” Ohio Senate President Matt Huffman said in a press release. “The Wright Brothers had a vision that can still be found in the 21st Century aerospace pioneers of today, dreams and know-how combined with a healthy dose of bravery.”
