LIMA — The 2024 “Be Great” Book Scholarship awards banquet will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Old Barn Restaurant & Grill, 3175 W. Elm St., Lima.
The banquet, sponsored by the Smith-Jones Family Foundation, is open to the public, with brunch available for purchase immediately following the program.
There are five finalists from Lima/Allen County for the scholarship awards. They are:
• Lauren French, Delphos Jefferson High School.
• JaMyia Lynch, Lima Senior High School.
• Seth Sharp, Elida High School.
• Malachi Talbert, Lima Central Catholic High School.
• Amaiya Thomas, Lima Senior High School.
The keynote address will be delivered by Faymi Gahndi, the 2020 “Be Great” Book Scholarship award recipient.
