Lima announces groundbreaking for pool

LIMA — The city of Lima announced Wednesday that it will be holding a groundbreaking for the coming Lima Community Aquatic Park at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2 at the site of the pool at 1005 E. Elm St.

City Engineer Kirk Niemeyer said that the event will be open to the public and will offer heating and refreshments, as well as new renderings and video of what the park, featuring two pools, will look like.

Swimmers from local high school teams will be on hand, as well.

Construction is already underway to take down trees at the site.

Parking will be available on the east side of the Spartan Stadium.

The park is scheduled to be finished by April of 2025.
