New CT scanner at Bluffton Hospital

BLUFFTON — Bluffton Hospital has a new computerized tomography scanner that hospital officials say will improve care for stroke patients.

The 128-slice CT scanner creates smaller images, known as slices, for a detailed look at the patient’s anatomy, including blood vessels.

“We are able to scroll through the patient’s anatomy, from top to bottom, front to back and side to side,” Chelsea Kirkpatrick, lead radiology technologist for Bluffton Hospital, said in a press release.
