VAN WERT — Pine Valley Ranch LLC is looking to expand its barns.
According to a recent press release, the company has a capacity of 2,264,000 laying hens and six layer barns. The release also states the company is still under construction with only four barns and 1,502,000 laying hens. The expansion would add four additional barns and 1,522,000 laying hens.
The Ohio Department of Agriculture will hold a public meeting for a draft permit to operate 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9 at the Van Wert County Fair Board Administration Building, EMR Meeting Room, 1055 S. Washington St., Van Wert. Community members can leave public comments via [email protected] or through mail to Ohio Department of Agriculture, Division of Livestock Environmental Permitting, 8995 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 before 5 p.m. Aug. 16.
