Bluffton professor and writer awarded grant

BLUFFTON — An anonymous donor sent a grant to Bluffton writer and Bluffton University emeritus professor Jeff Gundy through the Seattle Foundation, the university announced Wednesday.

The grant, worth $93,500, will fund Gundy’s new position as “writer in (non) residence” as well as administrative costs for two years.

Gundy, who has been a published author, professor, Ohio Poet of the Year and a distinguished poet in residence, intends to share discoveries through writing, presentations, publications and other activities with travel to places such as South Africa and Morocco funded by the grant.

Gundy was a full-time member of the Bluffton faculty for over 30 years and taught in Lithuania and Austria.
