COLUMBUS — A bill allowing Ohioans to file appeals to state agency orders with their local courts, rather than require citizens to file appeals in Franklin County, is headed to Gov. Mike DeWine.
The Ohio Senate concurred with House amendments Thursday to Senate Bill 21, sponsored by Sens. Rob McColley (R-Napoleon) and Michele Reynolds (R-Canal Winchester).
“This bill is designed to make the legal system fairer for Ohioans across the state and to save them time and money,” McColley said in a press release Thursday. “They can go before judges familiar with the particular issues and circumstances in their own home counties. And they won’t have the expense and inconvenience of filing appeals to state agency orders in a county that may be hours away.”
