Legacy Arts Scholarships presented

LIMA —Legacy Arts announced financial scholarships worth $1000 each to be awarded to Jamaal Durr and Madison Downing.

Downing will use her scholarship toward the “Made for the Stage Youth Theater Workshop”, which will be a free two-week workshop for students ages 8 to 18. It will introduce them to theatre and finish with a showcase performance at Encore Theatre.

Durr will put his to use in a summer workshop that introduces new art mediums and techniques to young students. During the four-day workshop, students will work with Kaprice Pickering of The Elegant Piece Photography to learn more about the craft, as well as with Durr himself at Live at The Lab in downtown Lima.

The scholarships go out to recipients who use the money toward a “business or artistic project designed to serve the Lima/Allen County Community.”
