VAN WERT —Van Wert Police made an arrest for menacing on Saturday night when an intoxicated man was reported to be threatening others with a knife.
Joshua Deamicis, 47, of Forest, Ohio, was arrested when law enforcement arrived before anyone was hurt.
Deamicis approached someone at Mi Ranchito Mexican Grill on N. Washington St. with a knife and said, “You are going to pay for this.”
A witness saw the knife in Deamicis’s hand and tackled him. Two others in the restaurant helped to subdue Deamicis until police arrived. They were also threatened.
Deamicis, who was on probation, refused to take a portable breath test and, as a result, violated said probation.
Police said Deamicis was taken to the Van Wert County Corrections Facility and was charged with one count of menacing and two counts of aggravated menacing.
