FOE donates money for handheld radios to Shawnee Police

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — The Shawnee Township Police Department announced a $3,000 donation from the Lima Fraternal Order of Eagles #370 to buy three new handheld radios Wednesday.

According to a press release, the department’s current handheld radios are aging and “have become obsolete.” The devices are necessary for officers to work safely and effectively.

These handheld radios are expensive and can be difficult for police departments to afford, according to the release.

Chief Robert Kohli said in the release he personally thanks the FOE for a “generous” contribution to the community and department.
