Toledo man charged with fondling young girls in Lima

LIMA — A Toledo man indicted by an Allen County grand jury on charges that he engaged in illicit sexual contact with children under the age of 10 while at a Lima residence earlier this year entered pleas of not guilty to the charges during his arraignment Wednesday in Allen County Common Pleas Court.

Derrick Martre, 26, was ordered held on $250,000 bond after pleading not guilty to two counts of gross sexual imposition and two counts of pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor, all third-degree felonies; and one count of the illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, a felony of the second-degree.

According to court records, police say that on or about May 20 Martre was discovered to have made videos with his cell phone of himself touching two young girls, aged 9 and 6. The incident is alleged to have taken place at 410 1/2 S. Metcalf St. in Lima.

Toledo police were alerted after Martre’s girlfriend, Alicia Arnold, reportedly found the images on the suspect’s cell phone. A warrant was obtained that allowed police to further search Martre’s phone and the videos of the suspect reportedly fondling the young girls were taken into evidence.

Martre will return to court on Dec. 28 for a pre-trial hearing.
