Lima man held on $1 million bond after drug bust

LIMA — A 37-year-old Lima man is being held in the Allen County jail on $1 million bond following his arrest on drug-related charges earlier this month.

Kyle D. Collins was taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant Dec. 6 at 575 Monticello Ave., Lima. The West Central Ohio Crime Task Force served the warrant with assistance from the Allen County S.W.A.T. Team, according to a task force spokesperson.

During the search of the residence, officers reportedly found a handgun and approximately 38 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were also recovered from the apartment.

Collins was taken into custody at the scene. He appeared in Lima Municipal Court on Dec. 7 for arraignment.

Law enforcement officials said Collins has a past conviction of trafficking in marijuana and also has a felony charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated pending against him.

Officials said Collins was released from the county jail on an own-recognizance bond one day prior to the execution of the task force search warrant.
