Activated School Challenge to support school wellness initiatives

LIMA — Six area school districts will be awarded up to $2,000 to help promote health and wellness among students.

Partnerships to Improve Community Health announced Wednesday the launch of the Activated School Challenge. According to a statement, this grant will enhance programs, curricula and equipment to permanently improve the health of students during the 2016-17 school year and beyond.

Funding and support has been made possible by St. Rita’s Health Partners through a partnership with the Lima Family YMCA’s PICH Grant.

Awardees will be announced in October, along with details on each school’s project. Schools that would like information or are interested in applying for an award may contact Activate Allen County at 419-303-3387.
