COLUMBUS — Ohio Gov. John Kasich announced Friday that he ordered all flags be flown at half-staff at all public buildings and grounds throughout the state sunset Tuesday in response to orders issued by President Barack Obama to honor the victims of the attack in Dallas, Texas.
Kasich’s order reads: “In accordance with orders issued today by the President of the United States of America and to honor the lives and service of the police officers killed in the line of duty on Thursday, July 7, 2016, in Dallas, Texas, I hereby proclaim, by the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Ohio by the Ohio Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, that the flags of the United States of America and the State of Ohio shall be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout the state of Ohio effective immediately until sunset, July 12, 2016.”
