Road construction and maintenance projects

Allen County

Interstate 75 from the Auglaize County line to Fourth Street, through Lima and Allen County, will have occasional lane closures throughout the year during the final year of the reconstruction of the interstate. Current and upcoming impacts to traffic are as follows:

• Traffic on I-75 north and south of the Ohio 65 interchange area continues to travel in a contraflow pattern where two southbound lanes and one northbound lane of traffic are traveling on the southbound side of the interstate, and one northbound lane is traveling on the northbound side of the interstate. Traffic will remain in this pattern until late summer.

• Traffic on I-75 northbound will continue to be reduced to one lane through the contraflow zone Monday through Friday for approximately the next three weeks, from approximately 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, for drainage and bridge work. (The lane closure will not occur the Friday prior to the July 4th holiday.)

o The exit ramp from northbound Interstate 75 to Ohio 65 will be closed during these same hours Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. (The ramp will not be closed on the Friday prior to the July 4th holiday.)

Traffic will be detoured north on Interstate 75 to Fourth Street to Interstate 75 southbound to Ohio 65.

• Heavy truck traffic will be present throughout the project for the next several weeks, especially in the area of the Ohio 65 interchange and the Yoder Road area, near the Orthopedic Institute of Ohio complex.

• Hanthorn Road over Interstate 75 was reopened on June 28.

• Paving of the final layer of asphalt throughout the project is expected to take place in late July and early August.

Additional Allen County projects:

Interstate 75 northbound and southbound will be restricted to one lane at the Ohio 81 overhead for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

Ohio 309 will be impacted by several projects throughout the construction season as follows:

• Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Robb Avenue to Cole Street, Lima, is restricted for reconstruction of the curb and gutter, upgrade of traffic signals and resurfacing of the roadway. The continuous turn from eastbound Ohio 309 to Grand Avenue was permanently closed on March 14. Work is being performed by Smith Paving, Norwalk.

o Drainage, curb replacement, resurfacing and pavement marking work is now complete.

o Reconstruction of two traffic signals at Rosedale Ave. and Cole St. is ongoing and may result in short-term lane restrictions.

• Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Eastown Road to U.S. 30, including the village of Elida, is restricted for widening, curb and gutter installation, drainage improvements and resurfacing. The project will continue through the fall. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation LLC, Celina.

The following impacts are occurring or upcoming. Traffic patterns will change frequently:

o Ohio 309 eastbound from Pioneer Road to East Road is maintained with two lanes westbound and one eastbound. The turn lane is maintained as well.

o Traffic will continue to be reduced to one lane in each direction at various locations through this area for drainage installation. The restrictions will be in place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day for approximately two weeks. Traffic delays should be expected.

o Traffic patterns will change frequently through this section.

• Ohio 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road, Lima, to Ohio 235, Ada, closed June 6 for approximately 70 days for culvert replacements at several locations. Access to area residences will be maintained. Through traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 235, Ohio 81 and Interstate 75 back to Ohio 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod.

o The location just west of Mumaugh Road is expected to reopen at some point over the July 4th weekend.

o The entire length of roadway is closed to through traffic. Those not residing within or traveling to a business within the project area will be subject to fines by law enforcement.

Ohio 65, Ohio 81, Ohio 117 and Ohio 309 pavement repair and resurfacing project will have the following impacts to traffic in the coming weeks. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Lima:

• Paving has been completed on Ohio 65/81 (North St.) between Jameson Avenue and Jackson Street, Ohio 117 (Spencerville Rd./Woodlawn Ave.) between Seriff Road and Elm Street, Ohio 117 between Ohio 309 (Harding Hwy.) and just east of Greely Chapel Road, and Ohio 309 (Jameson Ave.) between Cole Street and North Street. Installation of pavement reflectors and final pavement markings will take place in the coming weeks with traffic maintained through the work zone.

Ohio 65 from Yoder Road to East 4th Street is now open.

Ohio 117 and Ohio 501 (Wapak Road) intersection realignment and widening project and construction of left-turn lanes on Ohio 117 began June 30. No major impacts to traffic are currently occurring. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton. The following impacts to traffic are upcoming:

• Wapak Road at Ohio 117 will close on Tuesday, July 5 for approximately 30 days.

Auglaize County

· US 33 east between Ohio 29 and Ohio 66, 24 HOUR Lane closures July 7th – August 12th. One eastbound lane will remain open

· Ohio 65 between Ohio 720 and Geyer Road, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE July 5th – 6th. The official detour is: US 33 to I-75 to Ohio 274 to I-75

· US 33 east between US 33A and Blackhoof Street, 24 HOURlane closure June 27th – July 18th. One eastbound lane will remain open. *The US 33A ramp will also be closed during this time. The official detour is: 33 west to Moulton-Ft. Amanda Road to US 33 east

· US 33 A eastbound Ramp to US 33, 24 HOUR RAMP CLOSURE June 27th – July 18th. The official detour is: US 33 west to Moulton-Ft. Amanda Road to US 33 east

· District Wide- Installing Pavement markers on Auglaize US 33, Ohio 66, Ohio 67, Ohio 197, Ohio 219, Ohio 364, Ohio 703, Various lane closures June 14th – July 15th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· Ohio 65 between Southland Road and Sellers Road, Daily lane closures June 13th – July 30th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in both directions through the use of flaggers.

· District Wide- Shoulder Closures on I-75 in Shelby and Auglaize Counties, Auglaize US 33, Mercer Ohio 29, and Darke US 127. Various shoulder closures May 16th – July 15th between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.

· I-75 between Ohio 274 and National Road, Daily lane closures April 25th – July 29th between the hours of 3 am and 3 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· Ohio 67 between Park Street and Willipie Street, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE July 11th – 18th.The official detour is: US 33 to I-75

· Ohio 219 between Hardin Pike and County Road 25A, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE July 18th – 19th.The official detour is: Ohio 29 to Ohio 274 to I-75

· Ohio 197 between Conant Road and Main Street, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE July 18th – August 15th.The official detour is: Ohio 198 to Ohio 117 to Ohio 66 to Ohio 197.

· Ohio 720 between Walnut Road and Valley Road, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE July 20th – 22nd.The official detour will be posted.

Hancock County

Ohio 37 between Township Road 166 and Township Road 37, approximately three miles north of Mt. Blanchard, will be closed on July 7 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 103, U.S. 68 and Ohio 15 back to Ohio 37. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.

Interstate 75 between Perrysburg and County Road 99 north of Findlay will have the following restrictions through the fall during reconstruction and widening:

• Through November, overnight lane restrictions, generally from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County. Through December, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between U.S. 20 in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County.

• Through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between County Road 220 and Township Road 142, is closed for bridge work over I-75.

Hardin County

U.S. 68 between Walnut Street and Perry Street in Kenton is now open.

Ohio 273 between Ohio 292 and Township Road 179, Mount Victory, is now open.

Ohio 31 between Township Road 240 and County Road 230, approximately one mile south of Mt. Victory, will be closed on July 11 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 292, Ohio 47 and back to Ohio 31. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.

Ohio 309 will be impacted throughout the construction season as follows:

• Ohio 309 from County Road 171 just east of Kenton to the Marion County line is restricted through the work zone for resurfacing which began May 17. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

• Ohio 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road, Lima, to Ohio 235, Ada, closed June 6 for approximately 70 days for culvert replacements at several locations. Access to area residences will be maintained. Through traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 235, Ohio 81 and Interstate 75 back to Ohio 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod.

o The entire length of roadway is closed to through traffic. Those not residing within or traveling to a business within the project area will be subject to fines by law enforcement.

Logan County

· US 33 between CR 57 and Ohio 540, 24 HOUR Lane closures May 9th – September 30th. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· District Wide Chip and Seal project on Logan Ohio 287, Champaign Ohio 29, Champaign Ohio 245, Champaign Ohio 559 and Clark Ohio 41. Various lane closures April 18th – September 30th between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

· Ohio 508 between Township Road 30 and County Road 62, 24 HOUR BRIDGE CLOSURE July 14th – August 5th.The official detour is: Ohio 235 to Ohio 47 to Ohio 68

Mercer County

· Ohio 49 between the Mercer-Darke County line and Fort Recovery Corporation Limit, Various lane closures June 27th – July 29th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· Ohio 49 between Ohio 29 and Ohio 707, Various lane closures June 27th – July 29th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· Ohio 118 between Ohio 29 and the Coldwater Corporation limit, Various lane closures June 27th – July 29th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· Ohio 118 between Frahm Pike and Ohio 707, Various lane closures June 27th – July 29th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· District Wide- Installing Pavement markers on Mercer US 33, Ohio 117, Ohio 707, Ohio 197, US 127, Ohio 703, Ohio 716, Ohio 49, Ohio 219, Various lane closures June 14th – July 15th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· District Wide- Resurfacing project on Mercer Ohio 119, Mercer Ohio 274, Shelby Ohio 29 and Shelby Ohio 119 Various lane closures June 13th – July 29th between the hours of 6:30 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

· Ohio 703 between Ohio 29 and Ohio 364, Daily lane closures June 6th – July 29th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

· District Wide- Shoulder Closures on I-75 in Mercer, Shelby and Auglaize Counties, Auglaize US 33, Mercer Ohio 29, and Darke US 127. Various shoulder closures May 16th – July 15th between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.

· Ohio 29 between Enterprise Street and US 33, Daily lane closures April 18th – July 30th between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. These closures will be in Mercer and Auglaize counties. One lane will remain open at all times.

· Ohio 29 between Indiana-Ohio State Line Road and Ohio 49, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE July 11th – 15th.The official detour is: Ohio 49 to Ohio 707/IN 218 to US 27 to IN 67/SR 29

Shelby County

· District Wide- Installing Pavement markers on Shelby Ohio 66, Ohio 29, Ohio 47, Ohio 119, Ohio 65, Various lane closures June 14th – July 15th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· District Wide- Resurfacing project on Mercer Ohio 119, Mercer Ohio 274, Shelby Ohio 29 and Shelby Ohio 119 Various lane closures June 13th – July 29th between the hours of 6:30 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

· District Wide- Shoulder Closures on I-75 in Shelby and Auglaize Counties, Auglaize US 33, Mercer Ohio 29, and Darke US 127. Various shoulder closures May 16th – July 15th between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.

· I-75 north and south between Vandemark Road and CR 25A(Sidney), Nightly lane closures May 2nd – July 4th between the hours of 6 pm and 10 am. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· Ohio 47 between I-75 and Vandemark Road, Daily lane closures April 27th – September 30th between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

· Michigan Street between Pomeroy Avenue and Oak Avenue, 24 HOUR BRIDGE CLOSURE April 4th – August 5th. The official detour is: Michigan Street to Highland Avenue to Oak Avenue

Putnam County

Ohio 65 from Columbus Grove to Leipsic, excluding the village of Ottawa, is restricted to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

Ohio 12 through the village of Columbus Grove will be resurfaced in approximately one month at which time traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

Ohio 66 between County Road N and County Road P is now open.

Ohio 694 from Ohio 114 to the Glandorf Corporation will be restricted with traffic maintained during the week of July 4 for a chip and seal project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

Ohio 108 from Ohio 15 to the Henry County line will be restricted with traffic maintained during the week of July 4 for tarring and chipping of the roadway. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

Van Wert County

Ohio 81 between U.S. 127 and Kneller Road will be closed on July 5 for approximately three days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 33, Ohio 118 and back to Ohio 81. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.

Ohio 81 between U.S. 127 and Brown Road will be closed on July 11 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 127, Ohio 117, Ohio 116 and back to Ohio 81. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.

U.S. 127 (Washington Street) between Fox Road and Ervin Road in the city of Van Wert closed April 11 for reconstruction and widening of the road. Access to local businesses is maintained. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 81, Ohio 118, Ervin Road/Van Wert-Decatur Road, U.S. 224 and U.S. 30 back to U.S. 127. The closure will remain in place until fall. Work is being performed by Helms & Sons Excavating, Findlay.

• The U.S. 127 (Washington St.) and Ervin Road intersection will close beginning July 5 for five to six weeks for reconstruction.

U.S. 224 along the ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 to westbound U.S. 224 will be closed in the late summer for approximately one month for a slide repair project. Work is being performed by Jutte Excavating, Fort Recovery.
