LIMA — A project to replace several culverts beneath state Route 309 between Lima and Ada is underway and has closed the highway until mid-August.
A total of 12 culverts are being replaced, all located between Bowman Road on the east side of Lima and state Route 235 near Ada. The closures began this month, first on the far east end of the project near Ada. Two additional locations on the project’s west end closed Wednesday.
The entire section of highway is closed to through traffic, though access to businesses and residences is maintained. Traffic is detoured to state Route 235, state Route 81 and Interstate 75, back to state Route 309.
