Lima man who fled police while cuffed caught

LIMA — A Lima man who had escaped police custody while handcuffed Friday was captured without incident late Saturday.

According to the Lima Police Department, Derrick D. Williams, 32, was arrested at about 10 p.m. Saturday in a vacant home in the 1100 block of South Main Street. He was taken into custody without incident.

The capture follows Williams escaping custody while being arrested on a domestic violence charge Friday in the 700 block of West Kibby Street. After his hands were cuffed behind his back, Williams freed himself from an officer’s grasp and escaped on foot.
