Waynesfield PD seeks donations for new police dog

WAYNESFIELD — The Waynesfield Police Department is seeking funds to replace the recently deceased Yukon, the department’s first-ever police dog.

The cost for a police dog is approximately $15,000, according to Police Chief Nathan Motter, and any donations made toward the purchase of a new dog are tax-deductible. Donations can be given in any amount, with all donors to be listed at the department building and on its Facebook page, unless they wish to remain anonymous.

Any organization of business that gives $5,000 or more will be able to have its name placed on the K-9 cruiser and will also possibly be able to name the dog. Should more than one $5,000 donor come forward, their names will all be placed on the cruiser, with the dog’s name randomly picked from the submitted names.

Donations can be made at the Waynesfield Municipal Building or by mail to Village of Waynesfield, Attn: K-9 program, 300 N. Westminster St., P.O. Box 128, Waynesfield, OH 45896.
