Fort Amanda Park to be re-dedicated Sunday

LIMA — The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will hold a re-dedication ceremony at Fort Amanda Park from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The park is located on state Route 198 off Fort Amanda Road.

The fort was originally built in 1812 along the Auglaize River, one of a series of forts ordered built by Gen. William Henry Harrison. Recent work on the park has included a stabilization of the riverbank along with the installation of new interpretive signs.
