HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office was investigating Tuesday the death of a driver who was killed after striking a bridge sending the driver’s car into a creek.

The name of the driver was being withheld Tuesday pending identification of the driver who was pronounced dead at the scene, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The accident happened on township Road 38 east of state Route 235 in Union Township at 7:57 p.m. Monday. The driver was driving west on township Road 38 and struck a bridge barrier for the Ottawa Creek, which caused the car to vault and roll over into the creek, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
